Ken Miller Bits & Spurs
Hi, Please let me introduce myself - my name is Ken Miller and I make bits and spurs. My wife Jo-Anne and I began offering handcrafted bits and spurs to the public back in 1989 from our home which was then in Boonah. My loriner craft - making bits and spurs - complements a lifetime love of horses. Assuredly my craftwork gains by a longtime experience in producing, breaking, training & showing horses. Jo-Anne and I have enjoyed competing in cutting and reining. Over the years we have both worked in various external horse-related industries while maintaining a home horse stud. All bits, spurs, buckles and bangles are my own work - using no imported, cast or prefabricated components. All totally Australian owned and made. Every piece is hallmarked. There is no limit to the range as infinite style variations and fractional sizes are possible with handmaking. I make to order and wholesale direct to anywhere by post. Catering to all equestrian disciplines and persuasions - Australian - Western - English. COMPARE what is offered - these features will add considerably to the life and use of your bits and spurs:- * Buttons and swingers on KM spurs are made of stainless steel with a 3/16" pin. Most other spurs on the market have black steel with 1/8" pin. * Shanks are all threaded with 1/4" screws to make rowels interchangeable. Most other makers only use 3/16". * Snaffle bit centre rings are stainless steel - as are ferrules where bridle rings pass through. * All Dees, Eggbutts or Polocrosse type bits have 1/4" stainless steel pins. * Choice - its yours! If you prefer lighter pins or black steel just specify. * Sweet inlaid mouths - (blued steel sections inlaid with copper stripes) - the traditional method of making a sweet mouth bit that has a smooth non-abrasive finish inside the mouth. Plus - with this method sweet mouth sections can be conjoined to stainless steel in a way that only stainless shows to the outside of the horses mouth. * Bits and spurs in blued or stainless steel & combinations with or without adornments. Blued steel is guaranteed to rust. * Engraved sterling silverwork and/or decorative effects in stainless steel can be added to dress up items. * Personal designs such as brands or initials and one-off trophy applications. * Styles and sizes can be varied or mixed to suit your taste and needs. * Custom designs and/or copies or choose from the wide range of examples shown on this photo site.
